MRS JAMES E. WEST TO BE BURIED TODAY
Mrs. Ada Dawson West, wife of James E West, driver of the hose wagon of the Hampton fire department died in her home in Court Street yesterday morning at 9:40 o’clock.
Mrs. West had been in declining health for the past few months, and had been blind for many years. She was a woman of remarkable faculties and was able up to a few weeks ago to go about her household duties even with her affliction. She came to Hampton from York County many years ago.
She is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs J. W. Schwartz, E. W. West, R. H. West, W. M. West, B. T. West, all from Hampton, and one sister, Mrs L. J. Foster, also of Hampton. Two brothers, Amsphry Dawson and Shadie Dawson, of York County also survive.
Mrs. West was a member of the Church of Christ and a very active Christian worker. She had many friends in Hampton and York County.
The funeral services will be held from the Church of Christ this afternoon at 5 o’clock and will be in charge of the Rev. W. M. Long, the pastor. The burial will be made in Oakland cemetery.
The pallbearers will be; H. D. Keithley, A. M. Tennis, H. B. Tennis, E. T. Lacey and J. W. Evans.
