HAMPTON – Addie J. Wyche, 84, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, in her home.

She was a native of Sussex County and Peninsula resident for 56 years.

A dietitian, she was employed by Hampton school systems for five years. She retired from Veterans Administration Medical Center after 30 years.

She was a member of Zion Baptist Church, Hampton, where she served in the missionary society. She was also a member of Household of Ruth Lodge and a lifetime member of NAACP. She was a volunteer for American Red Cross.

She is survived by one great-niece, Cindy Springfield of Hampton; nine nephews and nine nieces.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday in Zion Baptist Church by Dr. Browlee Hailstock Jr. Burial will follow in Hampton University Cemetery. The body will be placed in church at 11 a.m. Saturday. Family and friends will assemble at 357 Woodland Road, Hampton, by noon.

Smith Bros. Funeral Home is in charge.
