ALFRED CRANE SR.
YORKTOWN – Alfred Charles Crane Sr., 81, a native of Pontywain, Wales and a Peninsula resident for the last three years, died Friday, Feb. 14.
Mr. Crane had been a resident of Whiting, N.J., for many years. He retired as a financial analyst for the Amstar Corp., in 1976.
He was a member of Grace Episcopal Church, the Harmony Masonic Lodge 18, AF&AM Toms River, N.J., the Scottish Rite Bodies, Newport News, the Crescent Temple in Trenton, N.J., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 10296 in Poquoson. He had been the past quartermaster of the Veterans of Foreign Wars 8745 in Whiting, N.J., had been an Army veteran of World War II, was an Eagle Scout, Class of 1926 and was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
Survived by his wife, Anne Voder Crane; a daughter, Candida Plyler of Silverdale, Wash.; a son, Alfred C. Crane Jr. of Tabb; and two grandchildren.
Funeral at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Grace Episcopal Church by the Rev. Carleton Bakkum.
Burial in church cemetery with Masonic rites.
Visitation following ceremony in church social hall.
