October 25, 1913
After an illness of two months with throat trouble, Allan Hugh Davis, aged 31 years, died at the home of his sister, Mrs. A.V. Dillon, 2710 Roanoke Ave., yesterday afternoon at 3:10 o’clock. Funeral services will be held in this city tomorrow and interment will be made in Williamsburg.
Mr. Davis was born in Williamsburg in 1882, but came to this city to live while still a small boy, with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Logan T. Davis. He accepted a position with the Lake Submarine Boat Company of Bridgeport, Conn., several years ago but returned to his home in this city on August 21 on account of trouble with his throat. He grew worse and the end was not unexpected yesterday.
While living in this city, Mr. Davis made a host of friends to whom his death came as a shock. He was a member of Trinity Methodist Church.
Mr. Davis is survived by his father, Logan T. Davis and six sisters, who are Mrs. A. V. Dillon, Mrs. Charles C. Thomas, Mrs. L. T. Frazier, and Misses Elizabeth B. and Grace Logan Davis, of this city, and Mrs. E. C. Skinner, of Richmond, all of whom were with him when the end came.
