Mr. Amos A. Christian

Williamsburg – Mr. Amos A. Christian died Sunday in Riverside Hospital.

He was a lifelong resident of the Peninsula and a member of Rising Sun Baptist Church, Lackey.

He retired a warehouseman from Fort Eustis in 1970.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include three sisters, Mrs. Russell Lockley of Lackey, Mrs. Beluah Scott of Washington, DC, and Mrs. Lenora Turner of Columbia, Md.; and a brother, the Rev. James E. Christian of Lackey.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 pm Thursday at Rising Sun Baptist Church by the Rev. J. B. Tabb. Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors. The body will be placed in the church at 11 am.

Family and friends are asked to assemble at 119 Jackson St., by 11:45 am Thursday.

The body may be viewed from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at Whiting’s Funeral Home, Williamsburg.
