ANDERSON L. WINDER

HAMPTON – Anderson L. Winder, a Peninsula resident for many years, died Saturday, May 11, in Sentara Hampton General Hospital.

Mr. Winder, a native of York County, was employed as a tile and rug mechanic for Southeastern Tile and Rug Co. for 30 years.

He was a 1954 graduate of the former George P. Phenix High School in Hampton. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Survivors include two daughters, Joyce M. Knowlin and Gina L. Knowlin of Hampton; a sister, Dorothy E. Willis of Chicago, Ill.; two brothers, James R. Winder and Clarence L. Winder of Hampton; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Viewing will be from noon to 6 p.m. tonight at Smith Bros. Funeral Home.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in Ebenezer Baptist Church. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The body will be placed in the church by 9:30 a.m. Wednesday. The family and friends will assemble at 1321 Willnew Drive by 11 a.m. Wednesday.
