LACKEY — Miss Annie Virginia Whitby, 84, Box 243, died Saturday in Patrick Henry Hospital after a long illness.

A lifelong Lackey resident, she was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church, Grove, and mother of the church. Survivor include four daughters, Mrs. Geneva Christian of Grove, Mrs. Rosa McCrae of Newport News, Mrs. Margaret Thompson of Philadelphia and Mrs. Esther V. Christian of Yorktown; two sons, Junior Whitby and Romeo Whitby, both of Lackey, and 43 grandchildren.

Whiting’s Funeral Home, Williamsburg is in charge.

LACKEY — A funeral for Miss Annie Virginia Whitby, who died Saturday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Mornings Star Baptist Church, Grove, by Rev. S.O. Trower.

Burial will be in the church cemetery. The body will be place in the church at noon and relatives and friends will meet at 200 Spring Road by 1 p.m.

Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Geneva Christian of Grove, Mrs. Rosa McCrae of Newport News, Mrs. Margaret Thompson of Philadelphia and Mrs. Esther V. Christian of Yorktown; two sons, Junious Whitby and Romeo Whitby, both of Lackey; and 43 grandchildren.
