Mr. Arthur F. Vayo

Hampton – Mr. Arthur F. Vayo, 87, died Thursday in Hampton General Hospital.

He was born in New Hampshire, and was a Peninsula resident for 24 years.

He retired from the Washington D.C. naval yard as a machinist in 1961 after 20 years of service.
A US Army Air Force veteran, he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Francis G. Vayo; two daughters, Mrs. Constance F. Neunz of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Barbara A. McGowan of Vacaville, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Lena B. Lotz of Weems; eight grandchildren; and a great grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church by the Rev. David Sharrock. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park.

A Christian wake will be held at 7 p.m. Monday followed by visitation at Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home.
