BESSIE J. WALLACE

WILLIAMSBURG – Bessie J. Wallace, 84, died Wednesday, May 23, in Williamsburg Community Hospital.

Mrs. Wallace was a lifelong area resident. She was a member of New Quarter Baptist Church where she served in the missionary circle and was mother of the senior choir.

Survivors include five daughters, Louise Freeman, Elnora Smith, Estelle Powell and Juanita Griffin, all of Williamsburg, and Alice Robinson of Yorkton; five sons, William Wallace Jr., James Wallace, Harold Wallace and Raymond Wallace, all of Williamsburg, and Arthur Wallace of Lexington; 29 grandchildren; 42 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday in the church by the Rev. George Marrow. The body will be placed in the church at 11 a.m. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Family and friends will assemble at 1143 Springfield Road by noon Sunday.

The body may be viewed from 4 to 6 p.m. Saturday in Whiting’s Funeral Home.
