CALEB H. CHANDLER JR.
HAMPTON – Caleb H. Chandler Jr., 67, a native of Pungoteague, died Monday, May 24.
Mr. Chandler, a Peninsula resident since 1948, retired in 1991 as a heavy-equipment operator after 14 years at Basic Construction.
Survived by his wife, Edith B. Chandler; three daughters, Jeannette C. Miller of Asheville, N.C., Linda Dorsey of New York and Linda C. Marshall of Graytown, Ohio; two sons, Lewis Chandler of the Eastern Shore and James R. Tabron of Hampton; three sisters, Cora Upshur and Margarite Roger of Long Island, N.Y., and Carrie Baley of Exmore; three brothers, Melvin Chandler of the Eastern Shore, the Rev. Severn Chandler and Norman Chandler of Philadelphia; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. Funeral 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home by the Rev. Severn Chandler. Burial in Oakland Cemetery.
