CECIL A. COLEMAN

HAMPTON – Cecil Arlen Coleman, 54, died Thursday, Dec. 29, in Veterans Administration Medical Center.

He was a native of Newport News and Peninsula resident most of his life.

A U.S. Navy veteran of Korea, he was a shipfitter and employed by Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Portsmouth. He was formerly employed by Newport News Shipbuilding.

Survivors include his wife, Paula B. Coleman; two daughters, Barbara A. Coleman, and Christine M. Coleman; one son, Richard R. Coleman, all of Hampton; six sisters, Helen C. Williams of Port Sanilac, Mich., Ida C. Blayton of Peachtree City, Ga., Margie E. Dotson of Pound, Roberta C. Freeman of Hampton, Mary C. DiGiacomo, and Shirley C. Schult, both of Newport News; two brothers, R. Carleton Coleman of Portsmouth and William E. Coleman of Virginia Beach; and one grandchild.

Funeral and burial will be private. Amory Funeral Home Grafton is in charge.
