Mathews – Charles Winchester Crockett, 73, of North, a retired insurance salesman died Sunday in a Newport News hospital after a long illness.

He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Mobjack Lodge 273, IOOF, and Omaha Tribe 92, IORM.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Betty Crockett of North; two daughters, Mrs. Tom Edwards of North and Mrs. James A. Jensen of Falls Church; a son, Charles E. Crockett of Boca Raton, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Sands Jones of North and Mrs. John Mason of Bohannon; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2pm Tuesday at Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home by the Rev. T. Winston Parker, assisted by the Rev. Otis M. Joyner. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery at Miles.

Burial will be in Providence Cemetery in Miles.
