CHAUNCEY NAZARETH

NEWPORT NEWS – Chauncey Nazareth, 75, a native of West Virginia and a Peninsula resident for 50 years, died Thursday, June 3.

Mrs. Nazareth retired in 1979 from the Ordinance Department after 37 years with the Naval Weapons Station. She was a member of First Baptist Church Denbigh, the Senior Choir, Gospel Choir, Mass Choir, Missionary Society and the Inreach-Outreach Program. She was the chairwoman for the church anniversary committee.

Survived by her husband, Robert Henry Nazareth; and two adopted daughters, Carolyn Jenkins and Stephanie Roy of Newport News.

Visitation from 7 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Carter Funeral Home, Denbigh Chapel. Funeral noon Monday at First Baptist Church Denbigh by the Rev. Ivan Harris. The body will be placed in the church by 11 a.m. Burial in the church cemetery. Assemble by 11:15 a.m. at the residence on Nettles Drive.
