Mrs. Tyler Crockett
Seaford – Mrs. Clara Dawson Crockett, 70, of Landing Rd., Seaford, widow of Tyler Crockett, died Friday in Riverside Hospital.
She had spent her life in Seaford. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church of its adult Bible class, and its women’s Society of Christian service.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Howard L. Smoot of Yorktown and Mrs. Belvin F. Ward of Poquoson; three sisters, Mrs. Mary L. White Seaford, Mrs. Madge Williams of Dandy, and Mrs. Lizzie Moore of Poquoson; three brothers, Luther Dawson of Dandy, Alvin Dawson of Chincoteague, and Kermit Dawson of Newport News; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted at 3 PM Sunday in Zion United Methodist Church by the Rev. Lee Roy Brown, pastor, and the Rev. W. Dabney Walters, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson.
Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body is at Amory funeral home, Grafton, and will be placed in the church at 2 PM Sunday.
The family is at the residence.
