CLARENCE B. CAIN
NEWPORT NEWS – Clarence B. Cain died Thursday, June 7, in his home.
A native of Darlington, S.C., Mr. Cain was a Peninsula resident for several years. He was a 1970 graduate of George Washington Carver High School. He earned a bachelor’s and law degree from University of Virginia and practiced law in Washington D.C. and Philadelphia.
Survivors include his parents, James A. Cain Sr. and Lillie M. Cain of Newport News; six sisters, Helen Saunders of Brooklyn, N.Y., Betty Cain of Darlington, S.C., and Carolyn Ward, Mary Cain, Rosalyn Cain and Gloria Cain, all of Newport News; and three brothers, James A. Cain Jr. of Topeka, Kan., and Antonio Cain and Timothy Cain, both of Newport News.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home by the Rev. Solomon Wooten. Burial will be in Pleasant Shade Cemetery, Hampton.
Family and friends will assemble at 3301B Wickham Avenue by 1:15 p.m. Monday.
