CLETUS DAVIDSON COBB
Cletus Rebecca Davidson Cobb died Nov. 29, 2005. She had been a resident of St. Francis Nursing Center for the past eight years.
Cletus was born in Asheboro, N.C., on Oct. 11, 1918. In 1941, she and her husband moved to Newport News where Bill Cobb worked in the shipyard. In 1946, Bill and Cletus moved to Poquoson and were warmly welcomed by their “Bull Island” neighbors.
Cletus was preceded in death by her husband, William Dwight “Bill” Cobb and their son, William Dwight Cobb Jr. Survivors include two daughters, Rebecca Clarke and Jennifer Goodwin; son-in-law, Michael Goodwin; grandsons, Charles Dwight Clarke and his wife, Cindy, and Steven Delos Clarke and his wife, Jennifer. Cletus had five beautiful great-grandchildren, Zachary and Mackenzie (Steven and Jennifer’s children) and William, Rachel, and Harris (Dwight and Cindy’s children). Also surviving Cletus is her beloved sister, Lois Morgan, of Asheboro, N.C.
A private graveside service will be held Thursday, Dec. 1, 2 p.m., at Emmaus Baptist Church Cemetery by Rev. John Snow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the National MPS Society, P.O. Box 736, Bangor, ME 04402-0736 on behalf of her great-granddaughter, Mackenzie Grace Clarke.
