Deborah E. Conyers-Simons, our loved one, entered into eternal rest, on Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2009.

She answered the Master’s call and crossed over into God’s Promised Land, in the Hospice Support Care House of Williamsburg. Her life began on Dec. 6, 1958, the daughter of Inez Conyers and the late Anthony Conyers Sr.

In her youth, she gave her life to Christ and was baptized and became a faithful member of Zion Baptist Church in Lightfoot. Upon her marrying Alfred, she joined hands in fellowship with Little Zion Baptist Church. She remained a faithful member until her passing. Deborah was employed as a Psychiatric Aide at Eastern State Hospital for many years. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She leaves to treasure her blessed memories, her husband, Alfred Simons; her daughter, Sherri Simons; her mother, Inez Conyers; her stepchildren,

Stacy Wilson and Alfred Simons Jr. (Felicia); her sister, Earthel Conyers-Foster (Joseph); her brother, Anthony Conyers Jr. (Cressondra); her five stepgrandchildren; her best friend, Robin ‘Punch’ Canady; her five sisters-in-law; her seven brothers-in-law; and a host of other loving relatives and many caring friends.

A funeral service, celebrating the life she lived, will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, in Little Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. Linwood Gatling and the Rev. Morris Randall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 123 Tarleton Bivouac by noon Monday. Mrs. Simons may be viewed in the funeral home from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
