DOROTHY A. CRAWFORD

HAMPTON – Dorothy Ann Crawford, 71, died Wednesday, May 1, in Sentara Hampton General Hospital.

She had been employed by a local dry cleaners.

Mrs. Crawford was a member of First African Baptist Church in Richmond and Riverview Baptist Church.

A Peninsula resident for several years, she was a native of Richmond. Mrs. Crawford attended Armstrong High School and Vandyer Catholic School in Richmond.

Survivors include two daughters, Mary C. Johnson and Lula Crawford of Hampton; a son, Benjamin Crawford of Hampton; two brothers, Lorenzo Dillard and Robert Dillard of Richmond; and five grandchildren.

Viewing will be from 1 to 8 p.m. today in O.H. Smith & Son Funeral Home, Newport News.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Riverview Baptist Church by the Rev. Quentin Smith. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Newport News.

The body will be placed in the church by noon Saturday. The family and friends will assemble at 623 Pennsylvania Ave. by 1 p.m. Saturday.
