NEWPORT NEWS – Mr. Earl T. Ward, 69, died Friday, July 19, 1996.

A native and lifelong Hampton resident, he was a cashier at James River Fishing Pier and was also employed by Bill’s Enterprises. Mr. Ward was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include one foster daughter, Glenda Johnson, and one foster grandson, Demario Johnson, both of Hampton; a very devoted friend, Lennie O. Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home by the Rev. Christopher C. Carter. Interment in Johnson-Ward Cemetery. Assemble at the funeral home by 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Viewing will be from noon to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home.
