POQUOSON – Edna I. Carmines, 90, died on Thursday, Feb. 15, 1996, at James River Convalescent Center, Newport News.

Mrs. Carmines was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, Poquoson, and a member of the Josephine Bulifant Circle. She was also a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Poquoson Fire Department and a member of the Quindie Roe Council No. 42, Degree of Pocahontas. Mrs. Carmines was honored as an Outstanding Citizen of Poquoson for her years of devoted service to the Poquoson Fire Department.

She is survived by her granddaughter, June F. McClelland; her great-granddaughter, Heather L. McClelland; her sisters, Lillian Rollins, Ethelyn I. Insley and Maude I. Insley; and a brother, George T. Insley Sr., all of Poquoson.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Weston Cemetery, Poquoson, by her nephew, the Rev. George T. Insley Jr. The family will receive friends at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home, Poquoson, on Friday from 7 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Poquoson Rescue Squad, 1035 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson, Va. 23662.
