Edward Volta
Edward Volta, 77, of 3613 Virginia Ave., Newport News, died at 6 AM yesterday at Riverside Hospital after an extended illness.
He had been a resident of Newport News for several years and made his home with a brother, Angelo Volta. At one time he was employed at the joiners Department of the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Co. At the time of his death he was employed at the Norfolk Shipbuilding Corp. Mr. Volta was a member of St. Vincent’s Catholic Church.
His only survivor was his brother.
Rosary services will be held at 7:30 tonight at the Peninsula Funeral Home. A solemn Requiem mass will be celebrated at 9 AM Tuesday at St. Vincent’s Catholic Church. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. W. A. Gill will be the celebrant. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Earnest Manzie, Albert Schmidt, William Crocker, John Ennis, Emmeth Heath and Frank Smith.
