HAMPTON – Edward Nelson Walton, 73, husband of Rosa A.E. Walton, who is a native of Hampton, died Dec. 27, 1997, at Veterans Care Center in Roanoke. A native of Albemarle County, he was born Feb. 25, 1924, to the late Newell Walton and Malinda Ralston Walton.

He is survived by three sisters, one brother and several nieces and nephews. He retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1964 as a senior master sergeant. He was a lifetime member of Moose Lodge No. 2164; the VFW, Batesville; Veterans of the Battle of the Bulge; and Air Force Sergeants Association. He was a member of Elks Club No. 336, Hampton, and the Sportman’s Club of Crozet.

A graveside service will be held Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 2 p.m. in Mountain Plain Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. David Collyer officiating.

Anderson Funeral Services of Crozet is in charge of arrangements.
