WILLIAMSBURG – Elberta Benschoten Works, 92, died Monday, Jan. 9, in her home.

A native of Bowling Green, Ohio, and a former resident of West Point, she has been a resident of Williamsburg for 42 years.

She was a member of several poetry societies and was a published author of poetry.

She was an active member of Jamestown Presbyterian Church and a graduate of Bowling Green College.

Survivors include a daughter, Murray Ann Strobell of Schenectaky, N.Y.; a stepson, Don C. Works Fr. of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Jamestown Presbyterian Church by the Revs. Ted Brothers and Sam Hart. Burial will be in Sunny Slope Cemetery in West Point.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Jamestown Presbyterian Church.
