Mrs. Elizabeth Coffin dies in Phoebus home
Mrs. Elizabeth Sarah Coffin, 80 years old, one of the oldest citizens of Phoebus, died in her home near Wilson’s crossing last evening at 6:30 o’clock. She was the wife of J. C. Coffin and had been a citizen here for many years. She had been ill for the past few weeks.
Mrs. Coffin is survived by her husband and the following children: Mrs. Millie Bage, of Norfolk; Miss Pearl Coffin, of Phoebus; Mrs. Stella Oldfield, of Phoebus; Mrs. Elizabeth West, of Hampton; and Fred W. Coffin, of Newport News.
The funeral services will be held from the residence Monday afternoon at 3 o’clock, and will be conducted by the Rev. Edwin Royall Carter, rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church.
