Mrs. E. Chandler
Mrs. Emma W. Chandler, 318-53rd St., Newport News, widow of Charles F. Chandler, died early Sunday morning in Buffalo, NY where she was visiting her daughter, Mrs. Robert Freeman.
She had been a resident of Newport News for the past 50 years and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Margaret Chandler Freeman of Buffalo, NY; Mrs. James Bozang of Pulaski; and Mrs. John Shea of Salem, VA; two grandchildren, one sister, and several nieces and nephews.
The body will arrive in Newport News Monday afternoon and will be taken to Caffee Funeral Home, where funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday.
Services will be conducted by the Rev. Albert E. Simms, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church.
Burial will be in Peninsula Memorial Park Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will include F. Baxtor Barham, Harvey T. Parker, W. M. Parker, Jr., R. E. White, R. A. Callis Jr., Woodley Dougherty Jr., Paul Davis and A. B. Swift.
Honorary pallbearers will include other friends of the family.
