Emmitt A. Copeland, 75, of 6 Salt Pond Road, Hampton, died at Dixie Hospital Saturday morning after a lengthy illness.

A retired farmer, he was a life-long resident of the Fox Hill area. He was a member of the First Methodist Church in Fox Hill and Woodmen of the World.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Manie S. Copeland of Hampton; step-mother Mrs. Nannie Copeland of Hampton; sister, Mrs. Carlie Johnson of Hampton; two half-sisters Mrs. Laura Sharmon and Mrs. Polly McNab of Hampton; and a half brother, Riddick Copeland of Hampton.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at the Lawrence B. Wood Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert C. Dover, pastor of the First Methodist Church in Fox Hill. Burial will be in Clark Cemetery.

The family will be at 906 Beach Road, Hampton.

Pallbearers will be Carl Copeland, Charles Milby, Thomas Drummond, Frank Paulson.
