Ethel Mae Collins, 77, widow of Samuel Perry Collins, died Wednesday, April 12, 2000.

She was a native of Hopson and a resident of Hampton/Newport News for more than 50 years. She attended Huntington High School and was a member of Zion Baptist Church in Newport News. She also attended Zion Baptist Church in Hampton.

She is survived by three daughters, Shirley M. Young, Evelyn C. Randolph, and Connie C. Bowen and her husband, John, all of Hampton; two sons, Clayton Collins, Ivan Collins and a special friend, Linda Banks, all of Hampton; 10 grandchildren; an 15 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home by Pastor Donnell Charity and Pastor Dale Miles. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

Family and friends are to assemble at 11 a.m. Monday at 10 Fields Drive. Viewing will begin at 1 p.m. today at Ronald C. Perkins Funeral Home, and the family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 4 to 5 p.m.
