POQUOSON – Florence Freeman Wornom, 82, died Monday, Feb. 26, 1996. A native and lifelong resident of Poquoson, she was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, Poquoson.

She was the widow of Hardy H. Wornom and was predeceased by her son, Charles L. Wornom, and brother, James Randolph Freeman Sr.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Virginia West of Gloucester and Marilyn W. Thorne of Poquoson; one sister, Sue F. Shores of Poquoson; three grandchildren, Yvonne Hurst, Jennifer Thorne and Matthew Thorne; three great-grandchildren, Ashley Tignor, Amber Tignor and Justin Hurst; and several nieces and nephews, including William “Billy” Davis of Newport News.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, 2 p.m., at Emmaus Baptist Church with Dr. Irvin Acree officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive their friends Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. at Amory Funeral Home, Grafton.
