Glyn E. “Hump” Copeland, 70, died Jan. 14, 2005, at his home in Palm Bay, Fla., with his family by his side after a courageous three- year battle with leukemia. A native and longtime resident of Hampton, Glyn moved to Palm Bay in 2001. In Hampton he was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Council 511. He retired from Lucent Technology in Hampton in 1986 after 30 years of service.

Glyn is survived by his wife, Nancy Copeland; sons, Danny Copeland and Kenny Copeland; daughter, Glynda Antonio; stepdaughter, Kim Perez; brother, Charles W. Copeland; and grandchildren, Courtney, Evan, Kai and Alyssa.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 25, at St. Joseph Catholic Church by the Rev. Anthony Morris.

The family requests that memorial donations be sent to the Clark Cemetery Association, c/o Mary Lou Roseau, 6 Riding Path, Hampton, VA 23669, or the K.O.C. Council 511 Charities, c/o St. Joseph Catholic Church.
