GRADY E. CARTER

NEWPORT NEWS – Grady E. Carter, 58, died Thursday, Jan. 26, in Riverside Regional Medical Center.

He was a lifelong Peninsula resident.

He was employed by Newport News Shipbuilding in the sheet metal department for more than 30 years.

He was a member of the Warwick Moose Lodge No. 1711 and the Peninsula Bass Association.

Survivors include one daughter, Glenda Lam of Charlottesville; three sons, Leslie E. Carter of Hampton, Roy Carter of Newport News and James Carter of Farber; one sister, Dorothy McKay of Hampton; one brother, Richard Carter of Newport News; and three grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Peninsula Funeral Home. Burial will be in Veterans Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
