HARRY N. WALLACE SR.

ETHELSVILLE, ALA. – Harry Nathan Wallace Sr., 89, died Thursday, Jan. 7, 1999. Mr. Wallace was born in Fox Hill to Mary Agnes and Amos Wallace, who was the Grandview Lighthouse keeper.

He lived in Fox Hill for 82 years until moving to Alabama to live with his daughter.

A member of Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church, he had been a fisherman, working last for Johnson Brothers Seafood.

In Poquoson, he had been a member of the Virginia Junior OUAM Lodge and had first been a player and later the manager of the Fox Hill Allstars, AAA fast-pitch softball team.

Mr. Wallace is survived by his daughter, Mary Wallace Tilley, and her husband, Lewis, of Ethelsville, Ala.; his son, Harry N. Wallace Jr., and his wife, Doris, of North Palm Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 10, at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church, by the Rev. Robert W. Sharp, with interment to follow in Clark Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
