I. VILLA WATKINS

POQUOSON – Isaac Villa Watkins, 83, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 1998. He was a lifelong Poquoson resident.

In 1976, he retired from Newport News Shipbuilding’s X37 Sheet Metal Department after 43 years. He had been a member of Trinity United Methodist Church and its men’s Bible class.

Survivors include his wife, Verlyn B. Watkins; his daughter and her husband, Beverly W. and Alex Gillikin of Poquoson; his grandsons and their wives, Brad and Cheryl Gillikin of Poquoson and Jeff and Nancy Gillikin of Holly Springs, N.C.; four great-grandchildren, Lindsay L. Gillikin, Brian Templeton, Andrew Gillikin and Alyssa Gillikin; sister-in-law, Nell Pauls of Poquoson, and another sister-in-law and her husband, Edna and James Teague of Poquoson; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 5, 1998, at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home by the Rev. W. Michael Nobles Sr. Burial in Smith Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 4:30 p.m. today at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home and at other times the family will receive friends at 20-A Alphus Street.
