J. H. CARMINES

POQUOSON – James Harold Carmines, 63, a lifelong Poquoson resident, died Tuesday, May 4.

He was an engineering technician in unitary tunnel after 40 years at NASA Langley Research Center. Mr. Carmines, a Korean War Navy veteran, was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, its board of deacons and the Acree Sunday school class.

Survived by his wife, Rachel Dixon Carmines; two daughters, Mary Callender of Richmond and Martha Kimbrel of Chesapeake; a son, Jim Carmines of Poquoson; three sisters, Elsie Edwards of Poquoson, Kathleen Sparrer and Nell Cardwell of Seaford; and a grandson.

Visitation from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Claytor Rollins Funeral Home and at the residence all other times. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday at Emmaus Baptist Church by Dr. J. Howard Tew. Burial in church cemetery.
