Deaths at Soldiers’ Home
John McCabe, youngest Civil War veteran in the institution
Mr. John McCabe, the youngest Civil war veteran holding membership in the National Soldiers’ Home, died in the hospital of that institution Sunday night. Mr. McCabe was 56 years old. He entered Company D, Seventh Delaware infantry, when but about 16 years old and served throughout the civil war.
Mr. Henrich Brewer, 76 years old, who served with Company C, Seventy-eighth New York infantry, died in the Home hospital yesterday.
James W. Cruse, who served with Company E, Fourth United States cavalry, and 68 years old, died in the Home hospital Sunday night.
