JAMES MALCOLM O’HARA
James Malcolm O’Hara, 85, passed away Friday, July 14, 2006. James was a man of integrity and a beloved husband, faithful father and loving grandfather. He was a true patriot and a staunch advocate of historic preservation, especially where it concerned the 17th century village of Yorktown, Va., where he was born and reared. He was a captain in the U.S. Army and served in the Philippines during World War II. He was also a graduate of Christopher Newport College. He was president of County City Supply Corporation and co-developer with his father, Leslie Richard O’Hara, of Marlbank Farm residential community in Yorktown.
James is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Sarah Finch Moore; three daughters, Sarah Kathryn O’Hara, Lucy O’Hara Hornor and Mary O’Hara Kiser; eight grandchildren, Leslie Carlisle Morton, Cody James Hornor, Stephanie Cele Hornor, Noah Luke Kiser, Jonathan Caleb Kiser, Elizabeth Ruth Kiser, Sarah Rachel Kiser, Samuel Wisdom Kiser and four great-grandchildren, Caitlyn Erica Morton, Ryan Patrick Morton, Jackson Blake Hornor and Olivia Grace Hornor.
A small private family service will be held at Grace Episcopal Church in Yorktown.
