JAMES IRVIN WALLACE
James Irvin Wallace, 82, known as ‘Twee’ and ‘Fiddler’, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009.
A native and lifelong resident of Fox Hill, Mr. Wallace was a graduate of Hampton High School and had served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He worked 15 years for York Oil Co., and then worked for 20 years for the City of Hampton as the chief electrical inspector retiring in 1989. He attended Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church with his family from a young age.
Mr. Wallace was preceded in death by his wife, Mary F. Wallace, who died on their 45th wedding anniversary.
He is survived by his daughter, Betty Evans and wife, Johnny; son, Pete Wallace and wife, Pam; grandchildren, Judy King and husband, Brian, Shannon Waldroup and husband, Billy, Hunter Wallace and Amber Wallace; and great- grandchildren, Morgan King, Jeffrey King, Brooke Waldroup and Curtis Irvin Waldroup.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, 2009, at Fox Hill Central United Methodist Church by the Rev. Wayne Moore with interment to follow in Clark Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.
