POQUOSON – Janice Carden Wilson, 50, a Creedmoor, N.C., native who had been a Peninsula resident for many years, died Monday, May 20, in Riverside Regional Medical Center, Newport News.

Mrs. Wilson was employed at Forget-Me-Not Florist in Hampton. She was a Baptist.

Survivors include her husband, Edward G. Wilson Sr.; a daughter, Denise F. Sanchez of Newport News; two sons, Jeffrey S. Wilson of Newport News and Edward G. Wilson Jr., at home; her mother, Virginia Mae Wornom of Poquoson; her stepmother, Mildred Carden of Stem, N.C.; three stepsisters, Bonnie Hulcher and Connie Bush of Newport News and Karen Carden of Stem; two stepbrothers, Johnny Carden and Terry W. Carden of Stem; and a grandchild.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at Claytor-Rollins Funeral Home.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home by the Rev. Donald Frensley. Burial will be in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Poquoson Rescue Squad, 1035 Poquoson Ave., Poquoson 23662.
