John Coleman Jr.

John A. Coleman, Jr., Negro, of 558-26th St., Newport News, died Tuesday at Dixie Hosptial after a short illness.

He was a native of Clover, and had been a Newport News resident for the past 20 years.

Surviving are his daughter, Miss Jacqueline Coleman of Newport News; mother, Mrs. John Coleman Sr. of New York City; two sisters, Mrs. Evelyn Burwell and Mrs. Virginia Letnom, both of New York City; and brother, Paul Melvin Coleman of Mount Vernon, NY.

A funeral service will be held at 2pm Saturday from Shalom Baptist Church, with Dr. J. B. Reed, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Shade Cemetery.

Family and friends will meet at the residence of Mrs. Doris Wright Coleman, 653-43rd St., Newport News, by 1:30 pm Saturday.
