JOSEPH E. EBORN
HAMPTON – Joseph Edward Eborn, 70, died Monday, Jan. 23, in Veterans Administration Medical Center.
He was a native of Bath, N.C., and Peninsula resident since 1946.
Eborn was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he was awarded the bronze star.
A nursing assistant, he retired from Veterans Administration Medical Center Hampton in 1978 after 35 years of service.
He was a member of VFW of Phoebus.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn M. Eborn; one daughter, Dyana F. Eborn of Norfolk; one stepdaughter, Gay M. Brown of Williamsburg; one son, McDonald W. Eborn of Hampton; two sisters, H. Mae Thorton and Sarah E. Matthews, both of Hampton; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in Hampton Memorial Gardens by the Rev. Linwood Peterson.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 tonight at 216 Commodore Drive, Hampton.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Langley Baptist Church.
