WILLIAMSBURG — Mr. Joseph Henry Wenger, 85, died Wednesday in Williamsburg Community Hospital. He was born in Waynesboro and had lived in James City County since 1939. He was one of the last dairy farmers in the area. He was a member of the Mennonite Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Cline Wenger; three daughters, Mrs. Alice Prater of Grand Prairie, Texas, Mrs. Carol Losey of Chappaqua, N.Y.; and Mrs. Helen Dillard of Williamsburg; a son, Joseph M. Wenger of Norge; three sisters, Mrs. Anna Mary Rohrer and Mrs. Stella Good, both Harrisonburg, and Mrs. Hannah Witmer of Columbiana County, Ohio; a brother, David Wenger of Ohio; and six granddaughters.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Warwick River Mennonite Church, Newport News, by his nephew, the Rev. Ralph Ziegler and the Rev. Roger Hershberger. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the James City Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 321, Toano, 23168. Bucktrout Funeral Home is in charge.
