LANDON T. VOORHEES

MATHEWS – Landon T. Voorhees, died Sunday, Jan. 22, in Williamsburg Landing.

She was born in Washington, D.C., and had been a Mathews resident since 1971.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Gloucester. She was past president of the Mathews County Garden Club. She was a member of the Mathews County Music Appreciation Club and the Ikebana International Society.

Survivors include her husband, Brig. Gen. Frederick T. Voorhees; one son, Col. Theodore B. Voorhees of Burke; one sister, Cornelia Dent of Alexandria; one brother, Josiah B. Trudgian of Lake Park, Fla.; and two grandsons.

A graveside service will be held at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the Mathews County Volunteer Rescue Squad.
