NEWPORT NEWS – Lendora Wiggins, 80, a native of Edgecombe County, N.C., and a resident of the Peninsula for 51 years, died Sunday, Sept. 5.

Mrs. Wiggins was a homemaker and member of Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple and its Orange Blossoms and the Golden Key Senior Citizens Club.

Survived by her husband, Exum Wiggins; two daughters, Rosie Cooper and Florence Mike of Newport News; a son, Exum Wiggins Jr. of Tarboro, N.C.; a brother, Walter Laneave of Washington, D.C.; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral 1 p.m. Thursday in Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple by Dr. M.I. Jefferson. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Viewing from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Cooke Bros. Funeral Chapel.

Body will be placed in church at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Assemble at 699 12th St. by 12:15 p.m. Thursday.
