LEVERETTE WHITE SR.

HAMPTON – Leverette White Sr. died Tuesday, March 7, in Sentara Hampton General Hospital.

A native of Little Mountain, S.C., he was a Peninsula resident for many years and retired from AFL-CIO in 1978.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, East End.

Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Dennis and Alma Mitchell of Hampton; five sons, Donald White of Chesapeake, Leverette White Jr., Hugh White, Michael White and Irving White, all of Hampton; one sister, Maude White of Boston; one brother, Vernon White also of Boston; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. today in Smith Bros. Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Baptist Church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 1812 Nickerson Blvd., Hampton, by 1 p.m.
