Luther G. Warner, 80, died Tuesday, June 27, 2000. Born in Norfolk, he had lived in Hampton for the last 32 years, where he was a mail carrier for the U.S. Post Office. He retired in 1988 after 23 years.

Mr. Warner retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1965 after 26 years, which included service during World War II and Korea. He was also a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Mr. Warner is survived by his wife of 51 years, Myrtle Audrey Warner; his daughter, Linda Kay Hutson of Mechanicsville; his sons, Lawrence Earl Warner of Hampton, Lance G. Warner of Newport News and Paul R. Warner of Norfolk; and nine grandchildren.

A funeral will be celebrated 6:30 p.m. Sunday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church by the Rev. Robert E. French. Entombment will be in the church columbarium.

Arrangements are being provided by R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home in Hampton.
