NEWPORT NEWS – Madeline Vick, 78, died Friday, Aug. 23, 1996, at home. She was a native of Bailey, N.C., and had been a Peninsula resident since 1950.
She was a member of Central Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Willard Wright Vick; one daughter, Glenda Flippin of Mathews; three sons, Warren Vick of Poquoson, Wayne Vick of Louisville, Ky., and Ronald Vick of Tallahassee, Fla.; two sisters, Polly Skinner of Wilson, N.C., and Leona Johnson of Greensboro, N.C.; nine grandchildren, Susan Flippin and Greggory Vick of Newport News, Larren Beacham of Poquoson, Michael and Angela Vick of Louisville, Ky., Tracey and Phillip Vick of Tallahassee, Fla., Donna Mathis of Gloucester, David Flippin of Mathews, and the late Christopher Vick; and four great-grandsons, Michael and Jeffrey Mathis of Gloucester, Christopher Beacham of Poquoson, and Brandon Vick of Newport News.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in Peninsula Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday in Peninsula Funeral Home with the Rev. G. Thornton Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park.
