MALCOLM LEROY CORRIN
Malcolm LeRoy Corrin, 81, widower of Virginia Frances Brown and son-in-law of the late Major Walter R. Brown Sr., former dean of men at Hampton University, and Lois Sheppard Brown, died July 25, 2005. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hampton University Cemetery.

MALCOLM LEROY CORRIN
Former son-in-law of the late Major Walter R. Brown Sr., former dean of men at Hampton University, Malcolm LeRoy Corrin died of natural causes after years of failing health Monday morning, July 25, 2005, in East Orange, N.J. He had been noted for his leadership of the national organization, ICBO (Interracial Council for Business Opportunity), headquartered in New York City.
Mr. Corrin was the third of eight children, born in Sea Bright, N.J., to Dorothy Beatrice and George Dewey Corrin Sr. He graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Ga., in 1950, where he majored in business administration.
His education was interrupted when he was called to serve in the Army during World War II. After completing OCS training, he served as a first lieutenant.
He was married to Virginia Frances Brown of Hampton, Va., now deceased, and the daughter of the late Major Walter R. Brown Sr. and of the late Lois Sheppard Brown. They shared a stepson, noted jazz great and Hampton native, Weldon Jonathan Irvine Jr., who preceded him in death.
With the help of the GI Bill, he attended the Wharton School of Finance at the University of Pennsylvania. He received his MBA in 1952.
He leaves behind two daughters, Lois Beatrice of Piedmont, Calif., and Linda Gail of East Orange, N.J.; two grandchildren, Camille Corrin and Weldon Marcus; six siblings, Muriel, Jean, Peggy, George Jr., Walter and Lawrence; and a host of friends and relatives.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, in the Hampton University Cemetery.
