Mrs. Callis
Mrs. Martha Callis, a Negro, 14 Bernard St., Hampton, died after a long illness Thursday in Dixie Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 12:30 pm tomorrow in First Baptist Church, Hampton, with the Rev. James E. Thomas, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Bassette Cemetery.
Survivors are her husband, Robert Callis, of Hampton; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Oliver, Mrs. Martha Tabb, Mrs. Maria Risper and Mrs. Helen Kemp, all of Hampton, and Mrs. Sophia Taliaferro of New York City; six sons, John, Leonard, Leeon and Robert Callis, all of Hampton, and Armstead and Willis Callis, both of New York City; four sisters, Misses Mary L. and Irene Watford, both of Hampton, and Misses Frances and Hattie Watford, both of New York City; two brothers, Edward and Jessie Watford, both of Hampton, and nine grandchildren.
