MARY B. WEBSTER
SUFFOLK – Mary Beth Ledingham Webster, 71, a former resident of Newport News and Virginia Beach, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, at her home.
She was a native of Kentucky. Mrs. Webster received her bachelor of science degree in science at the University of Miami and received her graduate and nursing degrees at the University of Colorado.
Mrs. Webster retired as a teacher from Newport News Public Schools in 1976. She had also taught school at Ft. Mead, Md., and in Ohio. She served in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II.
She formerly attended St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, Hampton, and was a member of the Business Women’s Association in Newport News.
Survivors include a daughter, Carolyn W. Rickerson of Suffolk; a stepdaughter, Michele W. Brenner of Richmond; and two grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton.
The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 618-C J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News 23601.
