MARY BURDICK WILLIAMS

Mary Burdick Williams, 86, a native of Middlesex County and a resident of Hampton for most of her life, died Thursday, March 21, 2002. She was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church, the church’s St. Anne’s Guild and the Kecoughtan Garden Club.

Preceded in death by her husband, Edward L. Williams; her sister, Lucy B. Payne; and her brother, Walter C. Burdick, survivors include her niece, Sandra P. Willingham of Lubbock, Texas; two sisters-in-law, Katherine J. Burdick of Hampton and Henryetta W. Delk of Norfolk; and a brother-in-law, E.V. Williams, and his wife, Bernice, of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 27, at St. John’s Episcopal Church by the Rev. Keith Adams. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuesday at R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to the Endowment Fund of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 100 W. Queens Way, Hampton, VA 23669, or a favorite charity.
