He leaves to treasure his blessed memories to his children, Linda Smith, Max Ward Jr. and wife, Pam Ward, Amy Hutcheson and husband, Scott Hutcheson, Toby (TJ) Ward and wife, Amanda Ward; his grandchildren who brought him so much joy, Dale and Ryan Ward, Tyler Rogers, Billy Redfearn, Caleb and Rylie Ward. He is also survived by one brother and two sisters.

We would like to give a special thanks to the Sentara Doctors, Nurses on the 5th floor and the Sentara Hospice Nurses. Thank you to Dr. Kessler, Kathy, and Phyllis at the Virginia Oncology Associates. The family wishes to express their love and gratitude to John Pollock for all of his support and encouragement.
